Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the CalculusLine website and learning platform (the "Service") provided by CalculusLine ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
CalculusLine offers a calculus learning platform: a PDF textbook organized by unit, an automated practice tool, and a messaging help line to an instructor. The Service is an educational aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any examining board or testing organization.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and do not share your account. An account may be signed in on one device at a time.
3. Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, or attempt to break or bypass its security or access controls.
- Do not submit unlawful, harmful, abusive, or infringing content, including through the help line.
- Do not copy, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content without our written permission.
4. Payments, credits, and refunds
Pricing, subscription renewals, help-line credits, cancellations, and refunds are described in our Billing and Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. Payments are processed by Stripe.
5. Content and intellectual property
The Service and its content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use them for your own study while your access is active.
6. Your content
Anything you submit (such as help-line messages) remains yours. You grant us the permission needed to store, process, and display it in order to operate the Service, including processing messages with our service providers to grade question difficulty.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any particular grade, score, or outcome, and study materials may occasionally contain errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms. Sections 5 through 8 survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, give a more prominent notice. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
